Mermaids:
Pirates: These were the kids Halloween costumes from last year. I made most of them and I still think they are dang cute. So why is it that they are not good enough to wear again? They still fit, and still look new, but oh no, it was like I told the kids they couldn't go trick or treating when I suggested that they wear last years costumes. DRAMA!! I guess it will be hours at the sewing machine again this year! So tell me, why do I like Halloween again?
This one was taken after trick or treating and the kids had had enough. Not the best picture, but you can see the mermaids a little better. (can you see Lillia's shell bra top?)

So, I was sort of inspired by your Halloween costumes post last year and decided to be a "good Mommy" and make my girls' costumes this year. Stay tuned to see the results...So long as my finger doesn't bother me that much!
So Funny because I am going through the same things with my girls! NOOO...they can't be last years! Funny! Cari
those are some impressive costumes girl!last year i used athletic tape and put stripes on the kids black clothes for jail birds and me and jason dressed up like the guards (my inspiration for our blog picture)
Those costumes are soooo cute. I now know where to go if I need a new costume! And I like secondhand seranades too. My sister in law actually went to that concert and LOVED it too. I'm jealous that you had such a fun weekend with your hubby. Those are the best!
Those are awesome costumes! Can't wait to see what you come up with this year. I love the look on Lillia's face!
I love that you're so gifted and able to carry on the traditions.
I still think Isabel should have won! (I know, let it go grampa) They're great costumes.
They are great customes. I can't wait to see what you come up with! Isabel said she is going to be a witch.

Wow I had forgotten how awesome those mermaid costumes were. The pirates look great too. Your kids know that you can make such awesome costumes that is why they don't want to wear the same ones. Just tell them Auntie Em & Uncle Jed are going to make their costumes this year & they will be begging for last years! :)

- From Ava (She said it says "Happy Halloween Jack-o-latern $2". - I don't get it either.)
You need to get them into the pirate\mermaid mentality, read them Peter and the Starcatchers and they will be begging to dress as pirates or mermaids
wow - I just came back here - and I see that my comment is not here - what the heck - this happened to me on another blog as well. What am I doing? SUch a dork sometimes!
Anyway - What I think I said was - great costumes and I cant believe you won't make them more gorgeous costumes this year (smiles and grins- so kidding). I won't be able to reuse the chick costume - do you want to try it out??
POOR Lillia - did you make her wear that the entire night?
